The Future S Concept made it’s global debut at the Auto Expo 2018.While Maruti Suzuki India have not revealed any details about it’s launch or what motor it would run once production ready, it does serves as a showcase of Maruti’s next generation of design. Its fluid dimensions and compact design make it impactful.
The Future S Concept is Maruti’s first attempt at a A-Segment SUV, once launched it will take on the likes of the Renault Kwid and the Mahindra KUV 100. However, thanks to the Future S’ dramatic dimensions and striking wrap-around A-pillar, it is likely that this will take the fancy of the young crowd this segment targets
One of the unique features on the Future S concept is the fact that Maruti Suzuki have given it suicide doors. Contrary to Maruti’s otherwise conservative design. The Future S scream young youthful and fun, The high-riding seat and the off-road worthy ground clearance add to the appeal.
On the inside the Future S concept is even more striking, with bright orange accents around an otherwise ivory themed interior. The Future S gets a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a centre mounted Multi-information display which also doubles up as the infotainment system.
Now although Maruti Suzuki is yet to announce an engine for the Future S concept we suspect that once launched it will get Maruti’s 83 hp 1.2 litre petrol VVT motor and 1.3 litre diesel Fiat-sourced motor that is a reliable go-to across the Maruti Suzuki range. There is also a chance that Maruti Suzuki might give the Future S concept an electric motor as well in the future.
