Mahindra Scorpio has just received its 2017 model year upgrades and the SUV now looks sleeker with modern touches. The changes on the 2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift are subtle. The Scorpio has been a popular Mahindra SUV since its inception not just in urban but also in Tier-I, Tier-2 and rural areas. It is considered to be a reliable vehicle and the tall stance completes the SUV feel of the vehicle. 2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift is priced at 9.97 – 16.01 lakh (Ex-Delhi) and does not get an automatic transmission variant.
Exterior changes on the Mahindra Scorpio facelift features a new 7-slot grille with chrome accent, fresh headlamp cluster, redesigned front bumper and additional bumper cladding. The SUV now also features automatic headlamp on feature.
Mahindra Scorpio continues to get daytime running lights (DRLs) on top of the headlamp cluster. Along with these the the SUV now features automatic headlamp on (AHO) feature which can be turned on/off by using the switch placed below the A/C control.
Mahindra Scorpio comes in four variants S3, S5, S7 and top-variant finishes at S11. The base model S3 gets the older m2DICR diesel engine while the remaining tris get the tested 2.2L mHAWK diesel engine. The engine also gets mechanical updates and is tuned in two states – 120bhp and 140 bhp. The powerful tuned engine is available only on the top-two variants and they also get the 6-Speed manual gearbox.
Dimensions of 2017 Mahindra Scorpio remains unchaged. The SUV now in its sixth generation has been a popular SUV for the company with a total cumulative sales of over 6 lakh units.
The rear of Mahindra Scorpio gets minor updates. The tailgates are newly designed finished in chrome and gets new red lens LED tail lamps.

The 2.2L mHAWK engine on the Mahindra Scorpio sheds a power of 140 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The top-Variants are mated to a 6-Speed Manual gearbox and there is no option of automatic transmission currently. The lower variants (S3,S5) are mated to a 5-Speed manual gearbox.
Updates on the new Scorpio makes the SUV powerful and filled with new features. It also gets cruise control, automatic start/stop technology and Mahindra also claims lower NVH levels resulting in quieter cabin.
On the inside, the new Mahindra Scorpio gets faux leather seats, faux leather wrapped steering and gear lever, new roof mounted sunglass holder and enhanced storage spaces. It also features a reverse parking camera with dynamic assist, new one-touch lane change indicator and new auto window roll-up. Safety is covered by dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), collapsible steering column & side intrusion beams, panic brake indication, engine immobiliser, panic brake indicator, anti-theft warning, speed alert, among others.
Mahindra Scorpio continues to get 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports bluetooth and gets in-built navigation. The maps are provided by MapMyIndia and offers GPS voice guidance in ten regional languages.
The rear seat gets rear A/C vents and a phone holder with a mobile charging cabin.
