The Volkswagen Group AG will unveil the Arteon at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in a world premiere. This coupe will replace the CC and the first official sketches in a video from the German carmaker confirms the striking resemblance with the outgoing CC.

Based on the company's MQB platform, the Arteon is likely to be powered by a 1.4-litre TSI petrol, a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines along with a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine. These engines will be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission. When launched in India, chances are that it may get a manual gearbox, if the company plans for it.

In terms of design, the Arteon borrows its lines from the VW Sport Coupe GTE that was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Like the CC, the new offering will have frameless doors for a more sporty appeal. Although, the company claims that the Arteon's doors give the car an image that 'reflect the typical stylistic elements of a grand tourer'.

At the Geneva Motor Show, the Arteon that will be unveiled will have LED matrix headlights, active indicator lights, 19-inch alloy wheels on the outside and active information dashboard along with a heads-up display hinting at autonomous driving. Although the India-spec version may not come with autonomous driving but it is bound to have other features like cruise control in most or all variants. Check out the official video below
