Volkswagen will launch the Tiguan on 24th May

The VW Tiguan will hit the ground on May 24th and is likely to cost around 30-35 lakh.

Having started bookings for the Tiguan, earlier this year. Volkswagen has finally announced that they will launch their SUV-flagship on 24th May, 2017. Those interested can still make a booking at the cost of a lakh at their closest VW dealership. The Tiguan will be powered by a 2.0 litre Turbo diesel engine that churns out 190hp of power and 400Nm of twist force. Power will be transmitted to the wheels courtesy the 7 speed DSG automatic and is likely to come with VW’s 4Motion AWD configuration.

The Tiguan will also be based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform and will be available in two trims; Comfort and Highline. The SUV will get a whole host of features befitting the price bracket. The goodies list includes LED headlamps with LED DRL's, alloy wheels, leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, 3-zone air conditioning with rear controls and an infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with 8-speakers as standard fitment.

The SUV will get the usual driver aids such as ECO driving, Hill Descent Control, Auto-hold, paddle shifters, speed sensitive ABS with ESC. The Tiguan will also get dual front, front side and curtain airbags and ISOFIX as standard.

Production for the Tiguan has been on for a while at VWs Aurangabad facility in Maharashtra. The 30-35 lakh ex-showroom expected to price on the Volkswagen Tiguan places it in direct competition with the Hyundai Tuscon and the Skoda Kodiaq.
