Skoda is reportedly working on the updated Skoda Octavia which is likely to get cosmetic updates both at the exterior and the interior. However, the updated Skoda Octavia will be first launched in the international markets by next year and later the car maker might launch the car in India in 2018.
Under the hood, the refreshed Skoda Octavia will get two petrol and a 2.0 L, TDI diesel engine. The Octavia vRS model is expected to get a 2.0 L, TDI or a 2.0 L petrol unit which might be tweaked to offer more power. All the engines will be paired to a manual transmission standard, while the dual-clutch DSG automatic unit will be offered as an option. The company might launch the plug-in hybrid version of the Octavia, which is expected to hit the international showrooms at a later stage.
From the images, we can make out that the refreshed Skoda Octavia has received a new fascia. The car will be offered with Superb-style grille and bigger LED lights as seen in most of the Skoda models. The bumper has been redesigned as well along with the sculpted hood and fog lamps. At the rear, the C-shaped tail lamps will continue to feature on the Octavia. The same tail lights are also available on the current Octavia in India. Dimensionally, the new Octavia will remain same and will have the same boot.
The cabin will be roomier and spacious with premium-looking dashboard and trims. The automaker will use the soft-plastic touch for the interiors. The new infotainment system will be equipped in the centre, which will feature a 9.5-inch touchscreen with gesture controls. The users can also connect their smartphone with the system which is supported on Apple CarPlay and Android phones.
