Toyota Kirloskar India has increased the prices of the Innova Crysta and Fortuner by up to 2 percent from May 2017. Prices of the Innova Crysta have been hiked by 1 percent, while the Fortuner prices have gone up by 2 percent. The company has attributed the price of both vehicles to the increase in commodity prices, however, the manufacturer has not increased the prices of its other models. In January 2017, the company had increased the prices of all its products by 3 percent.
N Raja, Director and Senior Vice-President, sales and marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said:"We are facing a challenge in terms of commodity prices, particularly metals, and therefore in order to offset the impact, we have passed it on to the customers".
The Innova Crysta is sold between a price of Rs 13.73 lakh to Rs 20.95 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The one percent increase would, therefore, push the prices up by Rs 13,000 to Rs 20,000. The Fortuner is offered between a price of Rs 25.92 lakh to Rs 31.12 lakh. After the price increase, the Fortuner's prices will go up by Rs 85,000 to Rs 90,000,ex-showroom, Delhi depending on the variants, as confirmed by a dealership in New Delhi.
