With recent spy shots of the next-gen Maruti Swift Dzire on the internet, it looks the company is planning to launch the car by next year. In these spy images, the test mule was fully camouflaged, so it is expected that the design might be based on the next-gen hatchback Swift, which will be revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The set of spy images of test mule revealed that the manufacturer has worked at the front of a car such as projector headlamps and a new grille. It is also expected that the all new Swift Dzire might be lighter in weight than the current Swift Dzire.
In terms of mechanicals, the 2017 Swift Dzire is expected to get the same 1.2 L K series petrol engine and 1.3 L DDiS engine, which power the present DZire. The spy images reveal few details about the interiors but it is expected that the next-gen Swift Dzire will get a new dashboard design and a new infotainment system. A few convenience features to are expected to be added and given the lighter weight of the car, the fuel-efficiency figures too could go up marginally.
When launched, the 2017 Swift Dzire will compete Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and Tata Zest in its segment. While details are scarce at the moment, we expect the new Dzire to be slightly more expensive than the present model.
