Indian automaker Tata Motors is following a strong aggressive business strategy this year and while the focus right now is at its Sanand facility that will soon roll out its first ever electric Tata Tigor, company’s Ranjangaon facility today rolled out 10,000th unit of its Tata Nexon compact SUV and is certainly a milestone to be celebrated. Tata Motors has launched three new products this year starting with Tata Hexa SUV followed by Tata Tigor sub-compact sedan and the small SUV Nexon.
Tata Nexon has received a good response in the market and is much appreciated for its design that follows the company’s IMPACT design philosophy. Since its launch in late September 2017 the company has already sold 5,871 units (until October 2017).
First unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo, Tata Nexon remains one of the few cars that haven't changed much between the concept and the production ready model. The car takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport and Honda WR-V. The key selling point of Tata Nexon has been its coupe-style fastback roofline, premium interiors and decent 210 mm of ground clearance. Tata Nexon is being offered with a 1.2L turbocharged revotron petrol engine and 1.5L turbocharged revotorq diesel engine.'
Tata Nexon petrol engine makes a power of 110PS and 170 Nm of torque and the diesel engine of Nexon sheds a power of 110PS and 260 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and there is no automatic option available as yet. However, we expect Tata Motors to introduce the automatic transmission on Nexon in early 2018.
Petrol variants of Tata Nexon are priced between Rs 5.68 – 8.59 lakh (Ex-Delhi) and the diesel version of the car is priced between Rs 6.85 – 9.44 lakh (Ex-Delhi).
