Indian carmaker, Tata Motors will be re-introducing the Hexa Experience Centre (HEC) from 10th June to 11th June 2017. The event will be held at NSIC Exhibition Complex, Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi between 2 pm and 10 pm, where the potential customers and enthusiasts will be able to experience the Hexa's capabilities on a curated off-road track. The re-introduction of this event is courtesy the impressive response in its Phase I in which 7,900 customer entries took place. The company is now planning to add 18 more cities in the second phase of the event.
The specially organised off-road track includes a side incline, articulation and staircase ramps, steep ascent, descent ramps, kerb stones, log barrier and roller ramps. Visitors will also get a chance to drive the Hexa SUV as well as other Tata vehicles which will be available for test drives during the said dates and if interested, can avail on-spot evaluations of their existing cars to trade in for a Tata car.
The Hexa is powered by a 2.2 litre VARICOR400 diesel engine that produces 154 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a manual transmission variant and the all-wheel-drive version also gets 'Super Drive Modes'. In this version, the driver can switch between four driving modes, Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road depending on the terrain at hand. Most prospects visiting the event would be testing the Hexa for its off-road capabilities.
The all-wheel-drive (AWD) system that is electronically controlled has been sourced from Borg Warner and also has a 'torque-on-demand' feature. This feature enables the vehicle to assess which wheels have the most traction and accordingly, it sends power to them. With the re-introduction of the Hexa Experience Centre, the company plans to garner more popularity for the model along with its other cars, the Tiago and the Tigor.
