With increasing popularity of automatic transmissions in hatchbacks, Tata Motors has introduced an XTA variant of the Tiago with automatic transmission. The new variant is priced at Rs 4.79 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The XT variant is now available in both 5-speed manual and automatic transmission. The Tiago XTA automatic transmission is an Easy Shift AMT with an in-built creep feature. It comes with a four gear positions- Automatic, Neutral, Reverse and Manual and gets a Sports mode for quicker response. The XTA version is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that churns out 84 hp of power and 114 Nm of torque. The XTA is the second highest version in Tiago line up and gets features such as 3-dimensional headlamps, 16-inch steel wheels and body coloured ORVM's. The hatchback comes with ConnectNext infotainment system by Harman compatible with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-IN. The car gets safety features such as driver and rear parking sensors, follow me headlamps and speed dependent auto door locks as standard, while driver and passenger airbags are offered as optional.
Tata Motors launched Tiago in April 2016 in petrol and diesel versions with five-speed manual transmission. In March 2017, the company introduced the car with AMT in top end XZ variant, to be known as XZA. The variants are Tiago Revotron XB, XE, XE(O), XM, XM (O), XT, XT (O),XTA, XZ ,XZA and Revotorq XB, XE, XE(O), XM, XM (O), XT, XT (O), XZ. The Tiago XTA AMT will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT, which is available at a price of Rs 5 lakh.
