Tata Motors is all geared up to launch its highly-anticipated SUV, Tata Hexa, sometime around November this year. However, the carmaker has not yet confirmed the launch date, which will be disclosed soon. At the 2016 Auto Expo, the homegrown car manufacturer showcased the production-ready SUV, which is designed by Tata's three design studios in India, Italy and the UK. Tata Hexa has also taken its design inputs from Land Rover. However, the Hexa will be underpinned on Aria's platform and will have a similar powertrain.

Powering the upcoming Hexa will be a 2.2 L, turbocharged, four-cylinder, diesel motor that generates 154 hp and 400 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. Paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the SUV will send its power to its all-wheel drive system.

Tata Hexa will boast of newly designed projector automatic headlamps, wider grille with aluminium finish and redesigned front bumper with larger air intakes. The car will also be equipped with LED fog lamps with a new housing cluster. The side profile of the SUV looks striking as it gets plastic cladding, wider wheel arches and new alloys. At the rear, Tata has provided the Hexa with a sportier stance which consists of split tail lamps, dual exhaust pipes and black C-pillar.

Tata Hexa will feature an all-black theme, similar to the Zest and the Bolt. The infotainment system will feature a touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity. The three-spoke steering has controls for audio and phone, while there is also an A/C vent for the second and third-row. For safety, the Hexa is expected to get 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control and rain sensing wipers.

We expect Tata to price the new Hexa between Rs 13 to Rs 18 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, which will rival against Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV500 in the segment. More information will be rolled out soon so watch out this space for more updates on Tata Hexa.
