Skoda to unveil Kodiaq on 10th August, launch in September

Skoda is all set to unveil its upcoming SUV, Kodiaq in India this month and the launch will be in September. According to the company dealership, they have started accepting bookings of SUV at Rs 51,000. The upcoming Skoda Kodiaq will be based on the company's MQB platform that also underpins the Superb and Octavia. The SUV will be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will produce 177 hp of power and 320Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre diesel engine will churn out power in two states of tunes-147 hp and 187 hp. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission and will send power to its all-wheel-drive system that will come as standard. Dimensionally, the Kodiaq will measures 2,791 mm in length, 1,882mm in width, 1,676 mm in length and will have a wheelbase of 2,791mm. It is expected that the SUV will be offered with 5 or 7 seat configuration. At the front, the SUV will get projector headlamps with LED DRL's, chrome finished front grille. In addition, it gets features such as panoramic sunroof, body-coloured roof and side body cladding.

Inside the cabin, the Kodiaq gets features such as 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, it will get additional features such as steering mounted control, electric tailgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, engine start/stop button and cruise control. The SUV will get active and passive safety features such as dual-airbags, ABS with EBD, however, it is expected that the higher variants might get six airbags.

Skoda will manufacture the Kodiak at its Aurangabad facility and is expected to be priced around Rs 30 lakh,ex-showroom, pan India. When launched the SUV will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
