Sixth generation Volkswagen Polo to debut on 16th June

As of now there is no information on when will the sixth generation Polo launch, however speculations suggest it will be launched in India by next year.

Earlier this month, Volkswagen teased the sixth generation Polo in a video. The manufacturer has confirmed that they will reveal the 2017 Polo on 16th June at a special event in Berlin and will be introduced in Global markets. The 2018 Polo will be based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB A0 platform and will be the second model, after the fifth generation Seat Ibiz (sold globally), to use the platform.

The next generation Polo will be powered by a 1.0 litre TSI three-cylinder petrol engine that will be available in two tune of power – 93 hp and 113 hp. The second petrol unit will come with a 1.5 litre TSI Evo four-cylinder that makes 148 hp. The diesel variants will get a 1.6 litre TDI four-cylinder unit that will deliver 78 hp and 93 hp of power. It is expected that 2017 Polo might get 1.0-litre MPI petrol engine that produces 73 hp of power.

On the exterior, the next gen Polo will get LED headlamps with LED DRLs at the front and LED tail lamps at the rear. The major upgrades that the Polo will get on the inside include a fully digital instrumet cluster and 12.3-inch Active info display. In terms of dimensions, the next generation Polo will be longer by 81mm, 61mm in width and 97mm reduced in height and increased by 90mm in wheelbase than the existing Polo model.

As of now there is no information on when will the sixth generation Polo launch, however speculations suggest it will be launched in India by next year.
