renault drive the future plan

Groupe Renault has announced 'Drive the Future', a mid-term plan for the 2017-2022 with an aim to increase its annual revenues. Under this strategic plan, the French automaker expects an increase in revenues of over €70 billion, operating margin over 7 percent, a 50 percent increase in value as well as with a floor at 5 percent throughout the plan. Drive The Future plan also aims eight pure electric vehicles and 12 electrified models.
However, for the Indian market, the car manufacturer is planning to launch a compact Multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) or a 7-seater vehicle, which will be less the 4-metres in length Confirms Thierry Bolloré, Chief Competitive Officer of Groupe Renault.

MD and CEO of Renault India Sumit Sawhney earlier in October also said, "Renault started operations in India six years back and now has a portfolio of three cars, Kwid, Duster and Lodgy and build it step-by-step. We want to expand our portfolio by launching one car each year.”

It is also expected that the upcoming compact MPV will be based on Renault-Nissan's CMF-A platform, a low-cost platform that also underpins the Kwid and the Datsun Redi-GO. Datsun India already has a sub-4-meter MPV in its Indian portfolio but underpins the Nissan's V-platform. The company already has an MPV in the form of Renault Lodgy that's based on the Duster's B0 platform. However, the new MPV will be positioned below the Lodgy MPV. The company has not confirmed the engine options, but it is expected to be powered by both petrol and diesel units. It is also expected that the new Renault compact MPV will have a seven-seat layout.

Currently, Renault India is busy preparing for the market launch of its Captur crossover and has not confirmed the timelines of its new MPV. However, we expect Renault's new MPV to go into production by in second half of 2019. Expect the price to be competitive between Rs 4-7lakh (ex-showroom).
