Renault India is all set to launch the Kwid hatchback with AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) or the Easy-R transmission. Ahead of its launch, which is expected to happen in November 2016, the carmaker has teased the image of the AMT unit on its official website.
The new Renault Kwid is likely to be offered with a 1.0 litre petrol engine that will produce 66 hp of power and 91 Nm of torque. As seen in the image, the AMT unit will not have manual gear shifting modes and will have a dial.
Besides this, the car will continue to remain unchanged at the exterior and interior, but might feature Easy-R badging on the exterior. The Kwid 1.0 litre will be available with standard safety features like dual airbags and ABS. A 7-inch media navigation system and remote keyless entry will also be a part of the equipment list.
The French car manufacturer has already started accepting booking for the upcoming Renault Kwid 1.0 litre with the AMT unit at a minimum amount of Rs 10,000. The new Kwid will directly compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 with a 1.0 litre engine and the option of AMT.
We expect the AMT version of the Kwid to be priced between Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, and it is likely to be offered in two variants - RXT( Optional) and RXT.
