Porsche have always been weird. Not for any particular reason. They are, in manner, the Andy Samberg of car makers. Super cool but oh! So strange. For one, they’ve only ever really cared about one car. The exact same one. And they’ve built it over and over and over again. Although on the flipside that means that the 911s of today are damn near perfect. Rear engined rear wheel drive perfectly distilled into pure driving pleasure.

Most manufacturers make poster unveils at a Concours or an Auto Show. Porsche, on the other hand, has dropped the new GT2 RS that we’ve been oohing and aahing about, at the X-Box E3 convention.

Why ?

Mostly because the Porsche GT2 RS is going to be the poster boy for the upcoming Forza 7  video game. Well, I mean Forza is as much a game as the new GT2 RS is a Beetle. The specs released even at the launch remain largely the same as we had spoken about earlier. At least 641 bhp and a sub 3-second tonne, from a pure sphincter clinching rear wheel drive.  The most powerful 911 ever.

As for Forza Motorsport 7, it’s going to be crazy.  It will be available for Xbox, 360 and Windows this November and judging by the 4K trailer featuring the 911 GT2 R7, gives us a glimpse of just how hardcore it will be. That’s including a 700 strong garage, available over 30 locations.  700 cars. Staggering.

That’s including  Le Mans prototypes to supercars, hypercars and even Truck race cars. Really just watch this trailer.
