As reported earlier, Skoda India has listed the upcoming SUV, the Kodiaq on its official website and the dealers across the country have started accepting the booking at a token amount of Rs 51,000 as confirmed by a dealer in Delhi. The booking amount though may vary from dealer to dealer. The new Skoda Kodiaq SUV will be manufactured at the company's plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra and is likely to be priced around Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The automaker is expected to launch the new Kodiaq by mid-2017 and will compete with the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The company will offer the new SUV in both 5- and 7-seating configuration and will measure about 4.6 metres in length.
The Skoda Kodiaq will be based on the familiar Volkswagen Group's MQB architecture that also underpins other Skoda, Audi and Volkswagen models and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan. The car manufacturer will offer the Kodiaq with a petrol and diesel engine. The petrol variants will get a 2.0 litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged unit that will produce 177 hp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The diesel variants will a 2.0 litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged unit that will produce power in two states, 147 hp of power and 340 Nm and 187 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission and will send power to its all-wheel-drive system that will come as standard.
Skoda has not updated the SUV's interior images on its website, but we expect the car to be equipped with new and advanced features. Some of the expected features include Skoda Connect touchscreen infotainment system, which will get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, navigation as well as Bluetooth.
The carmaker will also launch the new Kodiaq with a host of comfort and convenience features that will consist of an electric tailgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, engine start/stop button and cruise control. The electric driver seat, multi-function steering mounted along with six airbags, ABS (Antilock Braking System) and EDB (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) will also be part of the safety list.

The exterior will get projector headlamps with LED lights and split LED tail lamps. The company has added a lot of chrome that can be seen in the images, especially in the front grille and window panels. The Skoda Kodiaq will also receive a panoramic sunroof, body-coloured roof rails, blackened-out front and rear bumper section and side body cladding.
