Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover has started accepting bookings for the upcoming new Jaguar XE diesel version in India. According to a dealer in Delhi, the company is accepting the bookings at a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. The new Jaguar XE diesel will be available in Prestige and Portfolio versions and will not be offered in the base Pure trim. Both variants will be powered by a 2.0 litre Ingenium twin turbocharged unit will produce 177 hp of maximum power and will be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission that is sourced from ZF.
The company launched the Jaguar XE petrol in February, 2016 and the new diesel versions of the XE will be sold alongside the petrol derivatives that is powered by a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder unit that develops 197 hp of power and 320 Nm of torque.
The exterior and interior of the new XE diesel will be similar to the petrol model and will be built on the same lightweight aluminium architecture that will help in achieving the weight distribution of 50:50. The exterior will also feature sculpted bonnet 'J' blade headlamps and LED tail lamps.
Apart from this, the upcoming Jaguar XE diesel will be offered with JaguarDrive Control that will have different modes, namely; Normal, Eco, Dynamic or Rain Ice Snow. The XE will also receive InControl Touch with an 8-inch touchscreen with a touch and swipe controls for audio, climate and satellite navigation.
The new Jaguar XE is expected to hit the showroom in India on 31st May, 2017 and will be priced around Rs 45 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
