Honda Cars India has released the official teaser video of new City on its YouTube channel. The new Honda City is scheduled to launch on 14th February, 2017 and will receive cosmetic changes along with additional features. Potential buyers can now book the car from any of the company's dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000.

The teaser video shows the new LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lamps and round-shaped LED fog lamps, which looks similar to the current Honda Accord Hybrid. The 2017 City will also get revised bumpers, new chrome finished grille and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear-end will get new tail lamps and boot-mounted rear spoiler with LED brake light. The design silhouette will remain same.

Inside the cabin, the new generation Honda City will be equipped with a 'black and silver' themed cabin along with a touchscreen infotainment system. It is currently unclear if the infotainment unit would be a 5-inch or a 7-inch, however, considering the requisite of a buyer in this segment, the system should support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Bluetooth and navigation. In addition, the Honda City is also expected to have automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, parking camera and leather seat upholstery. These features are expected to be offered only on the higher variants. In terms of safety, the lower versions are also likely to get ABS (Anti-lock braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and dual front airbags.

The 2017 Honda City will be powered by the existing 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines in India. The petrol engine produces 117 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque, while the i-DTEC diesel unit develops 99 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque. The 5-speed manual transmission will be offered as standard, while a CVT gearbox will be available only for the higher petrol versions. The sedan is expected to be priced between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12.5 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and once introduced, it will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Hyundai Verna.
