There are two kinds of motorcycles. The first are those that dedicate their lives to being a barrage of overwhelming numbers and physics-defying aero and dynamics. Then there is this. The MV Agusta RVS, and in the spirit of practically every MV every built every inch of the RVS is built to make you feel special.
The RVS is built on the 800 R Dragster platform, to cater to the up and coming Scrambler scene, done in MVs own special way. RVS, which stands for “Reparto Veicoli Speciali” (Special Vehicles Operations) and is the first bike to be built by the newly founded operation.
And in MVs own words the RVS is “short for design and engineering at the very highest level. Not just quality, but perfection. Not just research, but vision. Not just performance, but emotions.”
They aren’t lying, look at the result. The MV RVS is a limited edition, although MV Agusta is yet to announce how limited or how much the RVS is likely to cost.
What we do know is that the RVS will make about 150 hp (!) from its 800cc motor, which incidentally, it produces at a stratospheric 12000 rpm!!! What makes this output even more significant is the titanium parts which has brought the bikes imprint to a ridiculous 160kgs, courtesy the RVS#1’s main tubular steel trellis frame features the traditional aeronautical-grade aluminium alloy side plates. Each model name and bike number are engraved into the right-side plate.Perhaps the most significant part will be the audio notes from the SC-Project exhaust which sounds absolutely heavenly. Don’t believe me, watch the video !!
Despite the MVs tight-lipped-ness about the motorcycle we are still expecting it to be much sought after by connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike. But we think it would be safe to expect a pretty significant price tag.
