Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 petrol launched at Rs. 74.90 lakh

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the petrol variant of the GLE, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC in India at Rs. 74.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC is the seventh model to be launched in 2016.

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the petrol variant of the GLE, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC in India at Rs. 74.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC is the seventh model to be launched in 2016. The new GLE with petrol engine will be sold along with the diesel-powered variants across the company's dealerships in the country as a CBU (Completely Built-up Unit).

Under the hood, the new GLE 400 is powered by a 3.0 L, V6 petrol engine that generates 333 hp between 5,250-6,000 rpm of power and 480Nm of torque between 1,600 – 4,000 rpm. Paired to a 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission, the SUV channels its power between four wheels permanently. The car has a claimed top speed of 247 km/h.

For the first time, we are introducing the GLE with a petrol mill and this underscores our strategy of offering the right product for our growing customer base. This is the fourth SUV we have introduced this year and with this variant, we now offer our bestselling SUV in 4 different options, GLE 250 d, GLE 350 d, GLE 400 and the dynamic GLE 450 AMG Coupe.”

The Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC uses airmatic suspension with Adaptive Damping System (ADS) for a comfortable ride and driving pleasure. For a better driving experience, the German carmaker has offered the new SUV with driving modes – Sport, Comfort, Slippery, Individual and Off-road.

Inside the cabin, the new GLE features an infotainment system that consists of Comand Online with New Generation Telematics and Mercedes-Benz Apps. The navigation system, telephone, audio, video, internet, Wi-Fi hotspot can be operated via an 8-inch media display system. The GLE also features Apple CarPlay as standard and Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system with 360-degree sound stereo, speed-sensitive volume control and 14 high-performance loudspeakers.

Safety is state-of-the-art in the new Mercedes-Benz GLE. These consist of Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, Active Parking Assist, Brake Assist and 6 airbags (adaptive front airbags, side bags for driver and front passenger, window airbags between A, B and C-pillars).
