Maruti Suzuki India's first ever sub-compact SUV will be called the Vitara Brezza. The global unveiling of the Maruti Vitara Brezza will take place at the 2016 Auto Expo in February, followed by its launch a few weeks later. The 'Brezza' is an Italian word for fresh breeze.
The company has also released the first sketch of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, revealing its side profile. With High shoulder line, short overhangs, square wheel arches and prominent character lines, the Vitara Brezza certainly looks quite attractive. Designed to appeal urban SUV buyers, the sub-compact SUV will take on the likes of Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 upon its launch.
“Balanced proportion supported by square wheel arches, short overhangs, high ground clearance and upright hood gives the vehicle a confident stance. The raising belt and rocker lines, and the roofline that slopes down gently towards the rear give the vehicle a dynamic posture,”, said the designer of the Vitara Brezza.
The designer further says: “The body surfaces are natural and sculpted tastefully to create the right interplay of highlight and shadow. Instantly recognizable floating roof over the wraparound greenhouse adds to the visual drama, and makes the Brezza standout in the crowd.”
Though there is no official word on its specifications yet, we expect this sub-4 metre SUV to share its engine lineup with the Swift twins.
Expected Launch - March, 2016
Rivals: Mahindra TUV300, Ford EcoSport
