Earlier in 2016, Maruti Suzuki launched the special edition of the Swift which was based on the base LXI trim and was equipped with added features such as all power windows, audio system with Bluetooth, remote central locking and more, to attract customers and increase its sales volume. Now, the car manufacturer has added a driver side airbag to the DLX variants and is priced at Rs 4.80 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Although the price of the base petrol, LXI is same as the DLX version, the new variant gets additional features. The DLX is equipped with a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in connectivity and also gets two speakers. Other features include power steering, manual air-conditioner and manually adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors). The exterior of the DLX trim has received blackened-out A and B-pillars, front fog lamps, wheel covers, body coloured door handles and ORVMs.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift DLX is powered by the existing1.2 litre K-Series, four cylinder petrol engine that generates 84 hp of maximum power, 115 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki reported a 27.1 percent increase in its sales and sold a total of 1,44,393 units in January, 2017 compared to 1,13,606 units in January, 2016. In the domestic market, the company sold 1,33,934 units, which grew by 25.9 percent. In the compact segment that including Swift, Estilo, Ritz, DZire and Baleno, the sales grew by 25.2 percent to 55,817 units in January, 2017 as against 44,575 units in January last year.
