Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift spotted testing, will compete with Honda City and new Hyundai Verna

When launched sedan, the facelifted Ciaz will compete with the likes of 2017 Honda City and the soon to be launched, Hyundai Verna.

From the 1st April 2017, Maruti Suzuki started selling Ciaz from Nexa dealerships with a new colour and an extended variant list ie Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, and a new variant S (Sport).Now, the company will introduce a facelift version of Ciaz with cosmetic changes and the sedan has been spied by Autocar. According to spied images, the spotted car is an upper variant Sunroof, LED headlamps with DRL's, chrome accents on fog lamps, reflectors and redesigned bumpers. It is also expected that the facelifted sedan will get a larger MID screen and rain sensing wipers.

Under the hood, the facelifted Ciaz will be powered by a 1.4 litre petrol engine that produces 91 hp of power and 130 Nm of torque; the 1.3 litre DDIS diesel engine which develops 88 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel engine will be paired only with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Ciaz gets ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), dual front airbags as well as ISOFIX mounts for child seats at the rear bench as standard.

Maruti Suzuki introduced Ciaz in 2014 and since then the car has gained popularity among customers. The Ciaz is the first sedan in its segment that is offered with a mild-hybrid technology, Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS).As of now the launch date of a facelifted Ciaz has not been announced, it is expected that it will be introduced later this year. When launched sedan, the facelifted Ciaz will compete with the likes of 2017 Honda City and the soon to be launched, Hyundai Verna.
