Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new Dzire on 16 May 2017, and has officially started accepting bookings for the car at an amount of Rs 11,000. The new Dzire is based on Baleno's reworked platform (HEARTECT) and is 105 kg lighter for the diesel trims and 85 kg lighter for the petrol versions. At the front, the compact sedan gets LED projector headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) while the rear gets LED tail lamps.
The 2017 Dzire is powered by a 1.2 litre K Series petrol and a 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engine. The engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed automatic gearbox (Automated Manual Transmission), also known as the AGS. The car measures 3,995mm in length, 1,515mm in height, and 1,735mm in width. Inside the cabin, the car gets a touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, it gets automatic climate control, twin pod instrument cluster and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
In terms of safety, it gets dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) as standard across all variants. The new Dzire will be available in Lxi, Vxi/ Vxi (AGS), Zxi/ Zxi( AGS) andZxi Plus( AGS) for petrol variants, while the diesel variants will be available in Ldi, Vdi, Vdi AGS, Zdi/ Zdi AGS as well as Zdi Plus AGS trims.
The new Dzire will be available in six exterior colours- Oxford Blue, Sherwood Brown, Gallant Red Arctic White, Silky Silver and Magma Grey.
