The company has a team of engineers who are working on electric vehicle technology at the R&D centre in Bangalore.
Pawan Goenka, managing director, Mahindra & Mahindra and chairman, Mahindra Electrics said: "That (electric XUV Aero) is one of the options that we are investigating in right now. Our plans for bringing out the Aero also depends on the cost of the high voltage powertrain technology,"
He also added: "I don't think we can have three or four high-end electric vehicles because the market will not be very large, so we are deciding which is the right high-end vehicle for SUV. It could be the new product that we have talked about with Pininfarina, it could be the Aero but we will have one, maybe two high electric vehicle SUVs.”
