Lamborghini has launched the Hurracan Avio special edition at Rs 3.71 crore, ex-showroom. The supercar is limited to only 250 units, which has been inspired by aeronautical engineering – a tribute to the bravery and courage of the Italian Air Force.
The new Hurracan Avio is powered by a lightweight, naturally aspirated, 5.2 L, V8 engine that generates 602 hp of max power and 560Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) dual-clutch transmission and also features electronically controlled all-wheel drive system. The V8 unit is the familiar engine which also powers the V10 Hurracan Coupe, but has been tuned for better performance.
The engine offers injection technology, which has been used on a V10 motor for the first time. It combines multi-point injection with IDS (Iniezione Diretta Stratificata) stratified injection that depends on driving conditions and offers improved fuel efficiency as well as performance. The engine helps the supercar to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and has a top-speed of over 325Km/h.
The special edition model is offered in different body shades - Grigio Falco, Blu Grifo, Grigio Nibbio, Grigio Vulcano and Verde Turbine. The exterior features dual-tone white and grey paint, L63 badging on the door panels with a tricolour flag in the middle of the letter L and number 63. For the uninitiated, 'L' stands for Lamborghini and '63' for the founding year of the Italian supercar maker.
Inside the cabin, the same L63 logo has been inscribed on the laser-engraved Alcantra leather upholstery. The cabin features all-black themes, seats with contrasting stitching and other useful buttons on the dashboard and console. The Hurracan Avio also gets Lamborghini's ANIMA technology (Adaptive Network Intelligence Management) for different driving needs - STRADA for the city, SPORT for enhanced driving pleasure and CORSA for the race track.
