Lamborghini had recently launched the Huracan Spyder RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) model as well as the Aventador S in India and now the company will launch the more powerful version of the Huracan, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante in the country on 7th April, 2017. The sportscar was first showcased at the recently concluded 2017 Geneva Motor Show, and is powered by a 5.2 litre V10 engine that produces a maximum power of 640 hp and churns out a peak torque of 600 Nm. The engine is paired to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and the car can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 325 kmph.
The company has reworked and re-engineered the vehicle on parameters such as weight, engine power, chassis and active aerodynamics. With these changes, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante took 6 minutes 52 seconds to complete a lap at Nürburgring, setting a new record for the best lap and becoming the fastest standard production car at the famed German track.
The new Lamborghini Huracan Performante has a lightweight body construction as it uses Forged Composite carbon fibre. This has led the sportscar to shed around 40kg of overall weight. The front and rear spoilers of the Huracan Performante are made entirely of Forged Composites. For improved aerodynamics, the Italian car manufacturer has also equipped the Huracan Performante with Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA), wherein the driver can adjust the rear spoiler as per the driving need for improved downforce or low drag. Moreover, the drivers can also see the position of the rear spoiler on the screen at the dashboard. Even the new alloy rims of the Huracan Performante are lighter than the standard Huracan and are wrapped with the new Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres for improved traction and grip. The V10 engine also uses Forged Composites for some parts.
Similarly, the interior of the sportscar is made of high-quality, lightweight materials, as the seats are made of carbon fiber, the interior parts of Forged Composites and the upholstery is made of Alcantara.
