Kinetic Green a satellite offshoot of the Pune based Kinetic Group, has now announced that they will enter a partnership with e-mobility firm SmartE to introduce 10,000 electric three wheelers across the country in the next 18 months. As part of the deal, Kinetic green has already rolled out 500 of their electric three wheelers in Gurgaon in collaboration with Delhi Metro Rail, HSIIDC and Rapid Metro Gurgaon."Kinetic Green is pleased to partner with SmartE for deployment of a vast fleet of electric vehicles, especially electric rickshaws to offer a green and differentiated last mile connectivity and affordable urban public transport solution," Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions Founder & CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani said in a statement.

Three-wheelers are the backbone of last-mile transport in India, and as a direct result become one of the largest causes of localised air pollution. The deployment of on-polluting electric rickshaws and autos would help reduce pollution in cities and help create a green public transport ecosystem, she added. SmartE Co-Founder & CEO Goldie Srivastava, said rather optimistically that this partnership will mark a significant milestone in the process of India’s 12-year plan to go all-electric. "At SmartE, we have moved over 6 million passengers through our electric last mile service in last two years. We are ramping up significantly and are looking to achieve an average daily ridership of one million in the next 18 months," he added. The partnership will see Kinetic will provide customized vehicles to SmartE, after being manufactured at Kinetic’s Ahmednagar plant.
