Jaguar Land Rover has announced a price cut in lieu of Goods and Service Tax (GST) of about 12% on select stock with immediate effect. The brand has maintained that customers will be able to avail this price cut in advance of the GST implementation date, i.e 1st July, 2017.
Jaguar Land Rover currently produces five name-plates in India – three Jaguar name-plates, XE, XF and XJ and two Land Rover name-plates, Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque. The price reductions will vary from model to model, and depending upon the state it is being sold in.
The benefits will be in the range of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5.7 lakh on Jaguar XE and will go up to Rs 4 to Rs 10.9 lakh on Jaguar XJ. On Land Rover models i.e. Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, the benefits will vary from Rs 3.3 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh.

While prices on small cars is expected to slightly increase as the current total taxation on sub-4 metre cars is lower than what has been suggested in the GST bill, prices of SUVs and luxury cars will be lowered. Read all about the impact of GST on prices of cars here.
