Bookings for the Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross have commenced from today across all Isuzu dalerships in India. Priced at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), the D-MAX V-Cross deliveries will begin from July 2016 onwards. Called the country's first 'Adventure Utility Vehicle', the V-Max is manufactured at the company's newly inaugurated plant at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.
"The ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross is designed to meet the aspirations of India’s adventure seekers. With a combination of rugged off-roading capability and passenger car like comforts, the V-Cross caters to the personal vehicle buyer who seeks adventure, style and utility.", said the company in a statement.
Though the V-Cross segment is quite new to the Indian market, it's very popular in overseas markets. What makes these vehicles very popular are their capabilities to handle off roads and regular roads with quite ease. People use them for daily commute and utility purposes as well.
The company says that the Isuzu D MAX V Cross has been tested for 40 lakh Kms and its engine offers best-in-class efficiency, durability and reliability. Powering the D-Max V-Cross is a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that is good for 134bhp at 3600rpm and 320Nm at 1800-2800rpm. Transmitting power to all four-wheels of the vehicle is a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The D Max V Cross' chassis frame is based on Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform (iGRIP) technology that gives it stability even at high speeds and sharp curves. While the vehicle looks rugged from outside, its interior looks quite upmarket thanks to its leather seats, steering mounted audio controls, electro-luminescent meters with MID (Multi Information Display).
Isuzu Motors has also started takign pre-orders for the Isuzu D-MAX regular cab pickup.
