According to the sources, the ninth generation Honda Accord will be launched during the festive season in India and it is the same three-box that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo – The Motor Show
The all new Honda Accord will be available in two engine options- petrol and hybrid. The petrol motor is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder unit that will churns out 138hp of power while the hybrid variant may get an additional 1.3kw lithium-ion battery that will produce added 212hp of power over the petrol engine. Once launched, potential buyers will also have the option of choosing between a manual transmission or a CVT.
The Indian version is expected to get some nifty features like smart entry push, push button start, cruise control, Honda Lane Watch, auto-dimming outside rear view mirrors along with the cabin unit and rain-sensing wipers. The dashboard will get a 7-inch touchscreen advanced display audio system with i-MID compatible with Apple CarPlay, hands-free telephone control with voice recognition and much more.
As for the safety, the premium sedan is expected to get aids such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), 'Multi-Angle' rear view camera and ISOFIX attachments for child seats.
The 2016 Accord is expected to be priced between Rs 25 lakh-30 lakh, bracket, ex-showroom. When launched in India the car will compete against the likes of Toyota Camry and Skoda Superb.
