Honda has unveiled its all-new flagship SUV – Avancier –at the ongoing Auto China 2016. The Honda Avancier is, basically, the production version of the Honda Concept D SUV that broke cover in 2015 at the Beijing Motor Show. The SUV is likely to launch in China by the end of this year or early next year. Though there is no clarity about its India launch, we just hope to see this in our market as well in future.
Based on the Honda CR-V, the Avancier features a large mesh grille with bold chrome bar, LED headlamps and fog-lamps, sporty bumper with silver skid plate and wrap-around tail lamps. With a sloping roofline and compact rear design, the car looks more like a coupe-crossover rather than a proper SUV. The interior of the Avancier looks quite different than its concept. Features like waterfall dashboard design with wooden trim and all black leather upholstery add more to its sporty appeal. The car also gets a new touchscreen infotainment system, instrument cluster with a large MID and 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
Engine specifications of the Honda Avancier are yet to be revealed. Though, the carmaker has confirmed that it will come with an option of a 9-speed automatic transmission. Speculations are on rife that Honda’s new flagship SUV could be powered by a 2.0-litre VTECH turbocharged petrol engine. At a later stage, the carmaker might also introduce a hybrid version of the SUV.
