DC Design recently teased new sketches of a modified Mahindra Thar on its official Facebook page. This is the second attempt by the designer to modify the Thar, which is known for its off road capabilities. According to the images released, the Thar will receive a new exterior in the form of a new bumper design with LED DRL's. At the rear, the Thar gets wide fenders with C- shaped LED tail lamps, redesigned roof with lights and foot boards.
The power figures are not confirmed but it is expected that the DC Design Mahindra Thar will get two engine options. It could be powered by a NEF TCI 2.5 litre CRDe engine that generates 105 hp of power and 246 Nm of torque. Also, it can get M2DICR 2.5 litre engine that churns out 63 hp of power and 195 Nm of torque with 2- wheel drive and all wheel drive configuration. These are the same engines that power the Mahindra Thar. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed transmission. As for the interiors, it is expected that new DC design Thar might get a touchscreen infotainment system, circular AC vents and new seat upholstery.
The older version of DC Design Thar received the major updates on the exterior and interior such as a hard top,16 inch alloy wheels, chrome accents on the headlamps & fog lamps and redesigned side mirrors. The body of the Thar was built using CFG (complete fibre glass) and it also featured high quality seat upholstery.
