Datsun India will increase the production of redi-GO Sport Limited Edition to meet the rising demands for the hatchback. The company launched the Datsun redi-GO Sport in September 2016, at Rs 3.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The car manufacturer has already sold 1,000 units of the limited edition model since its launch. In order to meet the demand, Datsun will manufacture additional 800 units of the vehicle and deliveries will commence next month.
The Datsun redi-GO Sport is powered by a 799cc, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 52hp of maximum power and 72Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The same petrol unit also powers the Renault Kwid.
“The Datsun redi-GO SPORT version has generated more demand than anticipated and we are happy to announce that the initially planned 1,000 units have been sold out in less than a month. To meet the high demand and delight our customers, we are announcing an increase in production of the car with a further 800 units,” said Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL).
The Datsun redi-GO SPORT features thick black stripes on the hood, roof and sides. The car also gets black wheel cover with red accents and red theme grille accents. The redi-GO Sport is available with a choice of three colours - Ruby, White and Grey.
Inside, the hatchback boasts of black interior theme with red accents on the dashboard. The entertainment system consists of Bluetooth connectivity, while keyless entry, rear parking sensors and matching accents and stitching on the seats are also part of the interior features. The redi-GO Sport is offered only on the top-end variants of the redi-GO and will be available at all Datsun dealerships in the country.
