Bad news, drug-dealers of the world: Koenigsegg have sold out all 1.9 million dollar Regeras’

Koenigsegg has announced that they have sold out all models 80 Regera’s that they had initially promised to bestow upon the world. Well, snap, now what am I going to do with the 1.9 million dollars I have stuffed in a shoebox in my wardrobe.

Masochistic jokes about my poverty aside, Koenigsegg who pulled the wraps of the Regera way back in 2015 at the Geneva motor show. However, it took Christian von Koenigsegg another year to put the manically powered Regera into production. Even though Koenigsegg have recently added to their team of existing engineers and can now build two cars in tandem.

Incase, you were wondering/live under a rock, the Regera is the manic 1500 bhp Hypercar hall-of-famer that is capable of 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds, 200 kmph in 6.6, and 300 in 10.9 seconds. Which means it beats Bugatti’s Chiron by a whole three seconds to three hundred. So much for the fastest vehicle ever tag Bugati !!

The Regera also comes minus the gearbox and shows off Koenigseggs revolutionary direct drive system which draws power from the Electric motor to get off the mark and then integrate the petrol motor directly later. Interestingly, while Tesla’s motor can give slot into bat out of hell mode only for two seconds of acceleration, the Regeras electric motors powered by Rimac batteries can do it for 10. Which translates to 200 kmph plus accompanied with wafts of tyre smoke, or an aneurysm for the layman in the audience.

We had heard that almost half of them had sold out at the Geneva Motor show 2017, and a few more month for them to find homes for the remaining 80. Well, soon-to-be homes. Despite the fact that not more than a handful of the Regeras have actually left the factory in Sweden, or made it to the production line, the orders have officially been closed.
