Audi have unveiled the newest iteration of the R8 Spyder V10 Plus, it is set to be launched later this year. The men from Ingolstadt have ensured that the new V10 Plus with the mid-mounted 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 will produce 70 more horsepower and 20 Nm of twist more than the existing models. This brings the R8s total power figures to an impressive 610 hp with a total twist of 560 Nm, that will be sent to the wheels via Audi’s Quattro Four wheel drive system.
Besides this, the supercar is now 25kg lighter than the standard model, weight 1,587 kg. It has been achieved due to the use of carbon fibre-reinforced plastics and aluminium components at the exterior and interior. This also helps the new Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds and have a top speed of 328 kmph.
As mentioned above, the exterior of the R8 Spyder Plus gets carbon fibre treatment along with trapezoidal exhausts which get four separate pipes. It also gets carbon fibre lip spoiler and standard black painted chrome 19-inch lightweight aluminium wheels. The cabin of the R8 will feature Nappa leather upholstery with bucket seats as standard, Audi’s 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit with Audi Drive Select and ceramic brakes. The company will offer the new Spyder Plus in new Micrommata Green body colour along with other gloss and matte paint schemes.
