Toyota is all set to launch its 2016 Fortuner on 7th November 2016 in India. Before its official launch, some images of the premium SUV are doing rounds on the internet. The new generation Fortuner has already reached some dealerships across the country and company has started accepting booking of the car. Based on the 'Toyota New Generation Architecture' (TNGA) platform, the SUV will be offered with two engine options- 2.8 L GD series diesel engine and a 2.7 L four-cylinder petrol motor. The engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Japanese automaker will bring the 2016 Fortuner in 6 variants- 4x2 Petrol Manual Transmission, 4x2 Petrol Automatic transmission, 4x2 Diesel Manual Transmission, 4x2 Diesel Automatic transmission, 4X4 Diesel Manual Transmission and 4X4 Diesel Automatic Transmission. Moreover, the SUV also features LED headlamps with DRL's, LED taillamp and an infotainment system with satellite navigation. The SUV measures 4,795 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, 1,835 in height and a wheel base of 2,745mm.
For safety, the 4X4 version of 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be equipped with Vehicle Stability Control(VHS), Hill Assist Control(HAC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution(EBS), Traction control, 7 airbags and SRS airbag, while ABS with EBD and ISOFIX will be standard in all variants. We expect the 2016 Toyota Fortuner to be priced between Rs 27 lakh to Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
