Hyundai have been testing the facelifted version of the Elite i20, which is expected to launch in India in 2018. The latest images of facelifted Elite i20 were taken by Flywheel in Chennai. The images suggest the Elite i20 will get LED tail lamps, a new set of alloy wheels and the licence plate will be re-positioned. At the front, the car will get updates such as a redesigned bumper with hexagonal grille same as its compact sedan sibling, the Xcent, along with fog lamps and a new headlamp design.
According to the images, the 2018 Elite i20 will not receive any changes in dimensions. It is expected to measure 3,985 mm in length, 1,734 mm in width, 1,505 mm in height and 2,570 mm of wheelbase. In terms of safety, the car will get ABS and dual airbags as standard across all variants. Inside the cabin, the facelifted version of the Elite i20 may receive some minor tweaks.
The 2018 Elite i20 facelift is expected to be powered by the same 1.4 litre CRDi diesel engine with 89 hp of power and 220 Nm of torque, paired with 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol version will get a 1.2 litre and a 1.4 litre unit that is paired to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The company may also offer a new 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine, which is expected to produce 120 hp of power and 172 Nm of torque.
Hyundai launched the updated version of the Elite i20 in April this year, with updates on the inside and new safety features. The new Elite i20 comes with six airbags, dual tone exterior colours and a new infotainment system that compatible with Apple CarPlay and other connectivity apps. The Elite i20 is available at a price range of Rs 5.36 lakh to Rs 9.09 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
