Ford has unveiled the facelifted version of the compact SUV EcoSport at the LA Motor Show. The 2018 EcoSport is built on Ford's B-segment platform, which also underpins the Fiesta. The company has not announced the prices of the all-new EcoSport as it is expected that SUV will be arriving at dealerships by 2018 in the US and some time later in India.
So what's new in the 2018 Ford EcoSport?
The 2018 Ford EcoSport will come with two powertrain options, a 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost three-cylinder engine with front-wheel drive, while the other one is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit with Ford's intelligent 4-wheel drive system. However, the company has not revealed the power figures and torque of the SUV. It is expected that the engines will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission but in India, the company could use a manual transmission too. The stopping power will be delivered by disc brakes at the front and at the rear.
Inside the cabin, the all-new EcoSport features Sync 3 software with an 8.0- inch touch screen, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car gets a 675-watt amplifier and Bang and Olufsen's audio system with 10 speakers. Along with this, there are 12-volt USB ports at the front and rear, while there is also an optional 110-volt power charging port for the rear passengers.
The 2018 Ford EcoSport will come in four trims- S,SE,SES and top end version Titanium. The SES trim gets a magnetic gray grille, tinted headlamps and copper accents on the dashboard, while the top end Titanium version gets chrome work. Since the model has only been announced right now and is a long off-market launch, details are limited. We'll bring you more details about the new Ford EcoSport as they become available.
