Nissan has launched the 2017 Micra hatchback in the country at a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Micra gets minor changes and is offered in XL and XV variants. Also, the 2017 Micra hatchback is powered by the same petrol and diesel engines as the previous generation.
Talking about the changes, the 2017 Micra gets updates in the form of automatic headlamps with follow me home feature, rain sensing wipers, 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and LED tail lamps. The cabin will feature sporty orange and all-black theme with orange stitching and centre console surround.
The car also gets piano black finish 2-Din audio system, steering mounted controls for audio and Bluetooth as well as a push start/stop button. In terms of safety, Nissan India has equipped the hatchback with speed sensing auto door lock, dual airbags, ABS (Anti-lock braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and BA (Brake Assist).
There is no change in the mechanicals, and the Micra facelift is powered by a 1.2 litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that develops 75 hp of maximum power and churns out a peak torque of 104 Nm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed and a X-tronic CVT gearbox with sports mode. The diesel variant is powered by a 1.5 litre engine, which generates 62 hp of power and 160 Nm of torque and is mated a 5-speed manual transmission.
