Lamborghini says the new design elements provide a 130% increase in downforce at the front

Lamborghini is preparing to launch an all new Aventador in India on 3rd March. This is the German manufacturer's second launch in the country this month. The Huracan RWD Spyder was launched on 1st February. 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S is an upgraded version of the previous Aventador, packs more power and features four-wheel steering. The V12 under its bonnet propels it from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 350 km/h. In terms of looks too, the Aventador S has received some changes, and it now features more electronic toys inside. It is expected to come priced at about Rs 4.5 crore (ex showroom, New Delhi).

The changes it has received on the outside are not just cosmetic. Lamborghini says the new design elements provide a 130% increase in downforce at the front, adding that the new side air vents reduce turbulence, improve cooling and increase efficiency.

The Aventador S will come with a naturally aspirated twelve cylinder, 6.5-litre engine, which will churn out 740 hp and 690 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. It will be paired to Lamborghini's lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed transmission.

On the inside, one could choose from a new material called Carbon Skin or have some parts of the carbon body left uncovered. The instrument panel will come with an interactive TFT LCD display that has new graphics. The interiors can also be given customised LED lighting system.

The LCD display will be customisable according to driving preferences, namely Strada, Sport and Corsa and the new EGO mode. Apple CarPlay willl be a standard specification. It also has an option to have a telemetry system fitted, to record lap times and track performance.

The sports car will come with Lamborghini Active Vehicle Dynamics (LDVA), a system that manages each of the dynamic axles of the vehicle. Also, steering on the Aventador S involves all it four wheels.
