Ford India is in the final stages of testing the facelift version of the compact SUV EcoSport, as seen in the latest spy images of a test vehicle. We expect the company to launch the car around the festive season. The 2017 Ford EcoSport will get updates at the front such as redesigned bumper with fog lamps, new grille and sleeker headlamps with LED DRL's. In addition, it will get roof rails, electrically adjustable ORVM's and 17-inch alloy wheels, however, the side profile remains largely the same. At the rear, the facelift Ford EcoSport will get a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and a revised bumper with diffuser. The new EcoSport will get major updates in the interiors and will get a pop out touch screen infotainment system with Sync 3 software. The new infotainment system will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also get new instrument console, steering mounted control and a redesigned centre console.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol motor will be available with a choice of automatic and manual transmissions, while the 1.0 litre EcoBoost and 1.5-litre diesel might come only with a manual gearbox. In terms of safety, the facelift EcoSport might get ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and dual front airbags will be standard across all variants of new EcoSport.
The current generation EcoSport is offered in a price range between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10.75 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It is expected that the 2017 EcoSport will be priced higher than the current generation and will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Honda WR-V and Mahindra TUV300.
