2017 Chevrolet Beat to launch in early June

The 2017 Beat will be powered by a 1.2 litre petrol and 1.0 litre diesel engine. The units will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an automatic transmission might be introduced later.

While some media reports recently suggested the closure of Chevrolet in India, the company will launch the new Beat in early June in India. The concept model of Beat Activ and Essentia were showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and serve as the basis for the new Beat's design. The Beat will be the first launch of the year by the manufacturer in India followed by Essentia and Beat Activ. The new Beat will receive cosmetic changes at the front and at the rear. At the front, the hatchback gets redesigned bumper with chrome accents on the grille, new design headlamps and fog lamps. Inside the cabin, the hatchback might get a touch screen infotainment system and dual tone interiors. The car will also get a new bumper with new design tail lamps at the rear.

In terms of safety, ABS and dual airbags might be standard on the new Beat. From the side profile,the Beat will be same as the existing version of Beat and the hatchback is expected to get new alloy wheels on the higher variants.

As for the prices, the 2017 Chevrolet Beat will be introduced at a slight premium over the current generation Beat. When launched, the new Beat will compete with the likes of 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 in its segment.
