India Yamaha Motor has updated its FZ range in the country and now the FZ and FZ-S are equipped with the AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) unit, received new body graphics and cosmetic enhancements. Apart from this, the two-wheeler manufacturer has not changed the mechanicals of the motorcycles.
The Yamaha FZ-FI is priced at Rs 81,611 and the FZS-FI carries a price tag of Rs 83,674, ex-showroom, Delhi. Both motorcycles are powered by a 149 cc, fuel injected single-cylinder engine. The engine produces 13.2 hp of maximum power and churns out a peak torque of 12.8 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The FZ, in comparison with the FZS, gets additional features such as a comfortable seat, saree guard and a one piece tail kit. Yamaha has also equipped the FZ with a front disc and rear drum brake and has removed the rear tyre hugger.
The Yamaha FZ is offered with a choice of Barrel Red and Bomber Black colours, while the FZ-S FI is available with Hurricane Grey, Knight Red, Lightning Cyan, Opal White and Matte Green options. For the Matte Green colour, customers have to pay around Rs 1,000 extra, taking the total price to Rs 84,674, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Yamaha FZ series competes with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar 180, TVS Apache RTR 160, Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
