Yamaha might launch MT-09 SP at 2017 EICMA

The MT-09 SP will get a same 847cc engine that does duty in MT-09.The unit produces 113hp of power and 87.5Nm of torque and comes paired to a 6-speed transmission.

Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, Yamaha Motor Company is planning to showcase a higher version of MT 09 to be known as MT-09 SP at 2017 EICMA. The MT-09 SP model will get new features and sportier styling similar to its bigger sibling MT-10 SP. It is expected the MT-09 SP will get ohlins suspension, TFT instrument cluster and will carry the same blue and silver paint scheme as MT 10. The MT-09 SP will get a same 847cc engine that does duty in MT-09.The unit produces 113hp of power and 87.5Nm of torque and comes paired to a 6-speed transmission.The MT09 SP will also borrow rider aids technology like revised mapping and quick shifter.Also, it is expected that Yamaha might showcase Tenere 700, based on MT07 at 2017 EICMA. The concept was first showcased last year at EICMA.The adventure motorcycle Tenere 700 is powered by a 689cc parallel twin engine that produces 74 hp of power. The motorcycle will get KYB fork and Akrapovic exhaust. In addition, Yamaha is also planning to introduce five motorcycles based on 847cc, three-cylinder engine. The motorcycles are expected to be launch in 2018. Yamaha is launched MT-09 in 2016  in India at a price of Rs 11.36  lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi) and is being brought in India via CBU route.  As for the prices, the MT-09 RS will be introduced higher than the MT-09 and will compete with the likes of recently launched Triumph Street Triple RS and Kawasaki Z900.

Yamaha Motor India is adding new models in its fleet, the company launched Fazer 25 and FZ25 this year. At the 2018 Auto Expo, Yamaha Motor India might showcase MT09 SP along with YZF R3 version 3 and 125cc Nozza Grande scooter.
