After a constant flurry of spy images and videos of the upcoming motorcycle TVS Apache RR310S (also known as the Akula 310) on internet, another interesting video has surfaced. In this video, the production version of the Apache RR310S can be seen testing on the Chennai-Bangalore highway. The video has been shot from a helmet-mounted cam on a KTM 390 Duke. In the video, the KTM rider can be seen reaching speeds of up to 124kmph. There are two TVS Apache motorcycles seen in this video and both seem to be comfortable maintaining a speed of around 120 kmph.
TVS Motors had earlier showcased the concept version Akula 310 at the 2016 Auto Expo and will soon launch the much-awaited motorcycle in India. The Apache RR310S has been co-developed by TVS and BMW, which sounds promising for performance enthusiasts. In addition, the motorcycle will also beat the BMW G310R to an introduction in the Indian market as the G310R reportedly is undergoing issues related to localisation and cost-reduction.
As we reported earlier, TVS Motors has filed a patent under the name of Sundaram-Clayton Limited, which states that TVS Akula 310 will be named as TVS Apache RR310S. The Apache RR310S has been jointly developed by TVS and BMW Motorrad and will be powered by a 313 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. The unit produces 32 hp of maximum power and 28 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
TVS Apache RR310S is a fully faired motorcycle and gets a twin headlamp cluster with DRL's and LED Tail lamp. It is expected that the motorcycle will get a vertical mounted instrument cluster and ride on 17 inch wheels. TVS Motor will manufacture Apache RR310S at its Hosur facility and it is expected to be priced around Rs 2 lakh.
