TVS Racing has tied up with Rajini Academy of Competitive Racing and has launched the Training Academy for Women in India. Around 25 women riders will take part in the academy across the country, where they will undergo a one-day training and selection process, which will be held in Bangalore on 24th May, 2017.
Out of the 25 women riders, the top 15 riders will be selected to participate in the TVS Ladies One-Make Series 2017. The training programme will include six theory sessions and a practice session on the track as well as a short race. Under the training programme, participants over 13 years of age who have ridden a motorcycle for two years can take part in the series. TVS Racing champion riders Jagan Kumar and Harry Sylvester will also be training the riders.
The selected 15 riders will be judged on the basis of time recorded for the 3-lap race. Formal training for women will start from June 2017 who will be given race-spec TVS Apache RTR 200 motorcycles. The series will consist of four races across the year. The registration process for TVS Racing – Training Academy for Women has already commenced.
