TVS Motor launches Apache RTR 160 and Apache RTR 180 in Matte red colour

The RTR 160 continues to be powered by a 159.7 cc single cylinder engine that produces 15.2 hp of power and 13.1 Nm of torque.

TVS Motor Company has introduced a new Matte red colour in Apache RTR 160 and Apache RTR180. The matted red series of Apache RTR is slightly more expensive than the standard version of the motorcycles. The Apache RTR 160 is priced at Rs 77,865, while, the RTR 160 with the rear disc is available at Rs 80,194. Its elder sibling, the RTR180 is offered at a price of Rs 81,833. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Apart from colour, there are no mechanical changes in RTR 160 and RTR 180. The RTR 160 continues to be powered by a 159.7 cc single cylinder engine that produces 15.2 hp of power and 13.1 Nm of torque. The RTR 180 unit comes with a 179.cc single cylinder engine that churns out 17 hp of power and 15.5 Nm of torque. Both motorcycles gets a 5-speed transmission.

In September 2017, the company witnessed an increase of 16 percent in total sales. The manufacturer sold 317,563 units last month against 274,303 units in August 2016. The total two-wheeler domestic sales grew by 15.5 percent in August 2017, wherein the company sold 309,146 units as compared to 267,670 units in August 2016.

In order to increase its sales in the festive season, the company has introduced its products with a new paint scheme and minor updates. Earlier, this month the manufacturer had launched Victor premium edition with disc brakes and new dual tone styled TVS StaR City+. In addition, TVS Motors is planning to introduce the much-awaited fully-faired motorcycle Apache RR310S this year. The motorcycle was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo as the Akula 310 and has some unique features such as carbon-fibre body panels and rear-seat mounted camera slot. These features, however, won't make it to the production model, which is expected to be launched towards the end of this year.
