TVS Motors has updated its automatic scooters Wego and Jupiter with SBS (Sync Brake System). The SBS system will be standard on all the variants of both the scooters. This system enhances the braking performance of the vehicle and adjusts the brake duties between the front and the rear. The SBS works on a single break mechanism that automatically activates the front brake when the rear brakes are used.

TVS Wego and Jupiter carries the existing 110cc 4-stroke, CVTi, single cylinder, air cooled, OHC engine, which complies with BS4 emission norms. The unit produces 8hp of power and 8Nm of torque and is mated to a V-matic CVT transmission. Dimensionally, both the scooters measures 1,834mm in length, 640mm in width,1,115 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,275 mm.

In addition, other manufacturers Honda Motorcycle and Scooters and Hero MotoCorp are already using the similar technology. Honda's system is known as CBS( Combi brake system) with Equalizer, while Hero MotoCorp technology is known as IBS (Integrated Braking System).

Both CBS and IBS system works on the same principle which enables to use both the brakes at a same time with a single lever. HMSI is using CBS with Equalizer system in its automatic scooters (Activa 3G, Activa i, Dio, Aviator, Activa 125) and motorcycle models (CB Shine, CB Shine SP, CB Unicorn 160, CB Hornet 160R).
